Later mustard oil is applied to the bodies of the bride and the groom. The turmeric paste is then applied by the friends and family invited for the ceremony. The friends and family enjoy it by applying the paste on each other as well. They apply it with great fun and joy. It is believed that Haldi paste is applied to the bride and groom so that they can look their best on the most precious day of their life, at their wedding. In some of the rituals, it is also believed that after this ceremony the bride and groom are not allowed to meet each other until the day of the wedding.
